Does your child (ages 2 1/2 - 4) struggle with learning?
Help is available.
Child Find is a program that helps locate and check children who may have a disability. If the disability makes learning harder, special education and/or related services may be recommended. These services can include speech therapy, occupational therapy, or counseling.
When should a child be referred to Child Find?
A child may need a referral if:

Birth problems or a medical condition affect growth or learning

The child has trouble following simple directions

The child has trouble hearing or seeing

Others cannot easily understand the child’s speech

The child learns more slowly than other children the same age

The child struggles with emotions or social skills that affect learning
Who can refer a child?
Anyone can make a referral, including:

Parents or guardians
-
Family members
-
Doctors
-
Teachers or school staff
-
Child care providers
-
Community agencies
-
Infant & toddler programs
